The Richmond County Dental Clinic
The dental clinic provides all types of general dentistry. Including:
Regular dental exams are a critical part of preventive health care. During a dental exam, the dentist or hygienist will check for cavities and gum disease. The exam includes evaluating your risk of developing other oral problems and checking your face, neck, and mouth for abnormalities.
Dental X-rays (radiographs) are images of your teeth that your dentist uses to evaluate your oral health. These X-rays are used with low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums. This can help your dentist to identify problems, like cavities, tooth decay, and impacted teeth.
Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities, gingivitis (gum disease), and periodontal disease (an infection of the tissues that hold your teeth in place).
Dental sealant is a thin, plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth -- usually the back teeth (the premolars and molars) -- to prevent tooth decay. The sealant quickly bonds into deep areas of the teeth, forming a protective shield over the enamel of each tooth.
Dental fillings are the removal of the decayed portion of the tooth and then "fill" the area on the tooth where the decayed material once lived. Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or tooth grinding).
Tooth extraction is the removal of the tooth from the mouth.
