[ARCHIVED] Notice to Richmond County Water Customers

Sandhill_Mizpah Rd Water Outage

On Wednesday January 12, 2022, the Richmond County Water Department will have to temporarily shut off water at the intersection of Sandhill Rd / Mizpah Rd. to repair a leak on our main transmission line.  This outage will affect Richmond County Water Customers from Sandhill / Mizpah intersection down Mizpah Rd to include all side roads and Loch Haven Rd, Battley Dairy road area, section of Rosalyn Rd., US Hwy 1 S.  In addition, customers on Airport Rd and all side roads off Airport road will be affected as well.

We anticipate this outage to take 6-8 hours to repair.  Customers may experience low water pressure and possible temporary water outages during this time.  Also, once water service resumes, water may be temporarily discolored because of having to cut and repair this section of waterline.  If this occurs, please run outdoor faucet or cold water to help clear up any discoloration.  Our crews will work diligently to restore service as soon as we possibly can.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, we cannot hold off on these repairs and take the chance of the line completely blowing out which would result in a significant water outage.

Thank you,

Jerry Austin Jr

Richmond County Public Works Director
